"Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that connects low-income Marylanders in need of civil legal assistance with pro bono attorneys.  Individuals can call during intake hours, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to explain their civil legal problems to our intake paralegals.  If the caller qualifies for our free or reduced fee services, we will match the client with an attorney who has expertise in the areas of need.  MVLS also provides free legal assistance to nonprofits working to strengthen low-income communities in Maryland."

The Chesapeake Legal Alliance (CLA) is the only organization of its kind dedicated solely to connecting those working to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay, and who cannot afford an attorney, with legal professionals willing to donate their time and skills to Bay-related matters.  The mission of CLA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Annapolis, MD, is to use the law to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay.
