Link to 2022 form https://forms.gle/XSAG4WLtpLvbQdte7

Procedures:

1. The announcement to the winner(s) should include: details about the award and guidance on what the response should be (a simple acceptance speech of no more than 2 minutes), and a request for what the award winner would like to be said as part of the introduction (firm name, practice area, location?)

2. The announcement to the AABA should include a request for a plaque(s) and the wording for the plaque.

3. Need to be more clear to the AABA President on the fact that the idea is to promote pro bono and talk about the need for pro bono in our community (perhaps provide a suggested speech, which they can change as they would like). Some information about the selection process and the name of the committee!

4. Give the President of the Inn the correct name of the award and by whom it is being presented.

2016

(per email from Nancy Faulkner 3/17/2016)        Fran indicates that the Board of Trustees of the AABA is amenable to the President's Pro Bono Award. Fran asked for a summary of the nominating/selection procedure. Attached, please find a proposal for the award announcement/nomination form. We could ask the AABA if they could post a fillable form on the website. Please let me know if you are amenable. I propose:

1) the nomination form be distributed (published in the Barrister, emailed to AABA members, etc.)

2) nominations be sent to the AABA by May 1, 2016, and then provided to our pro bono committee

3) we select the top 5 nominees and forward them to the AABA president for selection or we select the winner

4) we can ask the AABA to provide a plaque, which will be presented to the winner by the outgoing president at the annual meeting in June. Perhaps the AABA could have a plaque of each year's winners put in the lawyer's lounge (this may be something for future consideration).

I think it would also be nice if we wrote an article about the winner and published it in the Barrister.

Suggestion for Lisa Sarro If you or someone you know deserves to be recognized for their outstanding pro bono contributions, please consider nominating them for the President’s Pro Bono Award by submitting, by May 1, 2016, the nomination form below.”
